Begin early for gentler light and temperatures. Walk the ancient city with time for the Library of Celsus, Curetes Street, theatre and, when open, the Terrace Houses. Continue to Selçuk for a considered choice between Ephesus Museum, Basilica of St John and a relaxed local lunch.

Suggested pace
Allow two to three hours inside Ephesus and additional time if the Terrace Houses are open and important to you. The museum and Basilica of St John are separate visits in Selçuk, so the final plan normally selects the strongest combination rather than pretending every nearby monument fits comfortably.
Transport and meeting point
Pick-up can usually be arranged from central İzmir, Selçuk, Kuşadası or an agreed cruise-port meeting point. Journey times and the safe return margin are confirmed before booking. Cruise visitors should share the ship name and all-aboard time; we will not build an itinerary around an unrealistic final-minute return.
What to bring
Supportive shoes, water and sun protection are essential in warm months. Much of Ephesus is exposed, with polished and uneven ancient stone. Modest clothing is useful if the day includes an active religious site.
