Trust is more valuable than a long list of destinations. These principles guide every article, recommendation and update published by İzmirBlog.
Original, useful work
We write for a real traveller making a real decision. Articles must add context, practical judgment and a clear reason for existing. We do not publish copied venue descriptions, spun summaries or pages created only to hold advertisements.
Primary-source research
Official museums, cultural institutions, municipalities, ministries, transport operators and heritage organisations are our preferred sources for factual claims. When reliable sources disagree, we avoid false certainty and explain what a visitor should verify.
Accuracy and updates
Dates, prices, access rules and opening hours are checked when an article is prepared, but travel information changes. We retain source records, monitor important changes and correct verified errors. Significant corrections are acknowledged when they materially alter the advice.
Independence
Advertising, affiliate relationships, complimentary access and commercial collaborations do not buy editorial approval. Paid relationships are disclosed in plain English. Rankings and recommendations are based on relevance, visitor value and editorial judgment.
Respect for İzmir
We avoid treating neighbourhoods, sacred places and archaeological landscapes as backdrops. Our guides encourage appropriate dress and behaviour, responsible photography, local spending and realistic visitor numbers.
Reader feedback
Corrections and thoughtful disagreements are welcome at [email protected]. Evidence is more useful than anonymous promotional claims.
